IT'S OFFICIAL!!
Elena secures the 2009 Hilda M. Willis Arts Scholarship to Winchester-Thurston High School, one of the top-ranked private high schools in the Pittsburgh area. Having auditioned in March 2009 for the Hilda M. Willis Scholarship, Elena joins a very select few who have been awarded this prestigious honor. Elena begins her high school career at Winchester-Thurston August 2009 and is very excited to participate in the exemplary Winchester-Thurston Arts Program.

Elena wins Pittsburgh’s Most Talented Teen Competition. Sponsored by Pittsburgh’s own Greater Harmony Chorus chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Elena took First Prize as Pittsburgh’s Most Talented Teen. Invitations were sent out to music directors throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding suburbs. From these invitations, 25 students competed for the final 5 spots. And, from those 5 gifted singers, Elena's stirring performance secured the Pittsburgh’s Most Talented Teen title. It was a wonderful evening!

"Mary, Did You Know" Sung by Elena Falgione

Originally released in 1996, sung as a duet between Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd, "Mary, Did You Know" remains one of the most beautiful contemporary Christmas Songs. Elena brings a delicacy and power to this carol, and a spontaneous, multitrack duet at the end of the song is a delight. As an interesting sidelight, Elena was suffering from a bad cold when she recorded this tune.

"Mary, Did You Know" was recorded at ProTalent Studios during the 2007 Christmas Season when Elena was 12 years of age; the same location where Elena has continues to record her first compact disc entitled "With All My Heart."

elena performing2009 promises to be a breakout year for Elena. She plans on many more singing appearances and finishing her "With All My Heart" CD.
